The Cathedral Ushers Guild offers a ministry of welcome at Sunday and special services. The ushers greet worshippers before the service and distribute service leaflets, answer questions and provide directions, assist latecomers, take the collection and present the offertory gifts, and guide worshippers to and from communion.
The ushers serve at the 10 o’clock service on Sunday, on holy days such as at Christmas and during Holy Week, and for special services and diocesan occasions. The liturgy at St. John’s requires the work of many hands, and ushering is an easy way to contribute to that work while meeting fellow parishioners and seeing the service from a new perspective.
New ushers are always welcome.
